New Signing - Jamie McGowan

Promising young goalkeeper Jamie McGowan has joined Troon F.C. on a development loan from Greenock Morton until January.

20 year old Jamie signed for Morton in 2014 from St. Mirren & is highly thought of up Cappielow way, having won the West of Scotland Development League in 2015/16 and made a number of impressive appearances for the first team. A spell at Cumbernauld improved his game last season, so Morton Manager Jim Duffy will be expecting similar at Troon this season as he will compete with Ally McInnes for the number 1 jersey.

With long-serving goalkeeper Marty Fraser announcing his intention to leave the club on Monday night, Manager Jimmy Kirkwood & Asst. Manager Matt Maley have worked very quickly to secure a replacement, and were delighted to secure their first choice in Jamie.

Pending the completion of paperwork, Jamie will go straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Largs Thistle. Portland Park will be open from 10.30am, and the supporters bus will leave at 11.30am to head up the coast.

Welcome to Portland Park, Jamie!
